How to Apply Your Iron-On Patch

Before You Start

Iron-on patches work best on fabrics that can withstand heat.

Always test on a small hidden area if you're unsure.

What You'll Need

  • Iron (steam OFF)

  • Hard, flat surface (not an ironing board if possible)

  • Baking paper or cotton cloth

  • Patch

Application Steps

1. Preheat the fabric
Iron the area for around 5-10 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.

2. Position the patch
Place the patch where you want it.
Cover it with baking paper or a thin cotton cloth.

3. Apply heat
Using firm pressure (do not move the iron around),
Press for: 15-20 seconds
Lift the iron rather than sliding it.

4. Turn inside out
Flip the garment over and press from the back for another 15–20 seconds.
This helps activate the adhesive more evenly.

5. Cool completely
Allow the patch to cool before checking the edges.
If any corners lift, repeat the pressing process.

Extra Care

For bags, jackets, pet accessories or frequently used items, we recommend adding a few stitches around the edge for extra durability.
